Guanciale is an air-dried, Italian-style bacon made from heritage breed Berkshire pork cheek. Our guanciale is traditionally seasoned with salt and pepper, lightly smoked over an oak fire and then carefully air dried for several months to develop it's characteristic flavour notes and texture.
Guanciale is the perfect ingredient to add to Carbonara or Bucatini all'amatriciana.
Ingredients: salt, black pepper, curing salts (nitrites).
Free-from nuts, milk, dairy, wheat, eggs
Cooking instructions: carefully remove the skin with a sharp knife and set aside. Cut the meat into small cubes. Fry on a low heat in a frying pan until crisp (you do not need to add any oil). Once crispy, add to your favourite dish. Note: The skin can be cut into strips and air-fried to create great tasting pork scratchings.
Once opened, eat within 2-3 days. Suitable for home freezing.
